Correction to 'Seeing the reality of the tragedy in Minnesota'
A message from The Upstate American
Reputable journalism is fact-based, so it must correct errors. There were two, I believe, in the edition of The Upstate American published yesterday — one a typo (a missing “a” in the word “as”) and the other a factual misstatement: Donald Trump was 23, not 32, when the shootings at Kent State University shocked the nation.
I’ve fixed those in the text so that anyone seeing what’s now offered by Substack will get the corrected version. But I wanted those of you who subscribe to get it, too — and to know that because I count credibility as a fundamental professional attribute, I will number the corrections sent this year to subscribers of The Upstate American. It’s a good exercise, don’t you think?
Imagine if our nation was led by someone with a similar commitment to truth-telling.
Thank you for reading these perspectives offered from a place apart from the centers of power in America, and for being a part of a community that cares so deeply about our America.

Thank you - really unnecessary!
