What I like so much about reading this is that it puts into coherent, orderly language all the thoughts that have been swirling around in my head and I can see on the page (screen) what I really think and feel!
Thanks, Robby You may be interested to know that the germ of an idea for this piece came from my big brother -- a fine tennis player at age 80, who just got a new knee (sound familiar?). The other day, he said to me, in frustration, "I can't open anything anymore!" Then I tried to open a pack of batteries for my bicycle headlight. Sheesh! One little idea led to another, and eventually a column emerged. I'm really glad it suggested familiar feelings for you.
Thanks as always Rex for the very insightful column. It continues to trouble me greatly that some of our highly regarded institutions are being decimated by the far right. Clearly, the Supreme Court is following a political agenda at the expense of everyday Americans. Yet, the ring leader of the far right, Donal Trump, has a realistic chance of becoming the President again. Where and when does it stop? As an aside, I have had difficulty opening bottles for some time now and I thought it was just me and my arthritic fingers. So thanks for mentioning that.
