Culture trumps democracy. Whether you call it 'white nationalism' or some version of Sarah Palin's 'real Americans', Republicans have chosen culture as their hill to die on. Non-white, non-Christian, non-straight - go down the list. Anything, including sacking the Capitol and a planned insurrection, is OK in the defense of that America. Their extremism in the defense of their liberty is no vice, democracy be damned. Meanwhile, unable to function in government, climate, cyber, global health bang at the door. Wolf, indeed.
