Rex, I agree that change tends to sneak up on us. But, what is to be the impact on society of those individuals who do not perceive changes now nor anticipate potential changes to come? Since these people tend to be voters, how they vote can go a long way toward what changes may occur.

I think you've touched on something that's always a challenge to democracy: the decision-makers (voters) often don't perceive the real consequences of their choices, or even willfully ignore them and follow just what's familiar or a candidate aligned with their camp. That's why the brokers of information need to be so skillful, and ethically wedded to the pursuit of truth. But there's not an easy solution there. Thanks for the good comment!
